How we handle your response and any personal data you give us. Last updated 6 October 2026.
Who is responsible
This consultation is run by the Network Intelligence and Automation Lab in the UCD School of Computer Science. University College Dublin (UCD) is the data controller.
UCD's Data Protection Officer: Office of the DPO, Roebuck Castle, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4, Ireland · gdpr@ucd.ie
What we collect
- Your answers: organisation type and role, the policy areas you choose, your ratings, comments and any evidence you give.
- If you choose to give them: your organisation's name, your name, your email address, what you would like us to send you, and whether you want to be acknowledged.
- Your attribution choice and your consent, the date and time you submitted, and a response reference.
We do not store your IP address with your response. To stop automated abuse, the server keeps a one-way, keyed hash of the visitor's IP address for up to 24 hours. It is not stored with your response and is deleted automatically.
Please do not include trade secrets, security-sensitive information or personal data about other people in your answers.
Why we use it
- To analyse the responses and prepare Irish Space Industry Regulatory Priorities 2026, a policy report for Irish government departments, regulators, enterprise and research agencies, and European stakeholders.
- To test the findings at an online policy-validation workshop.
- To use your contact details only for what you asked for: sending the report, inviting you to the workshop, telling you about related consultations, or acknowledging your contribution.
Legal basis
We rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give when you submit the consultation. You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew.
How we respect your attribution choice
- Public attribution: we may quote you and name your organisation.
- Organisation-level attribution: we may name your organisation but not you.
- Anonymous: we may use the substance of what you said without identifying you or your organisation.
- Confidential background: we use your answers to understand the issues, but do not reproduce or attribute them.
Who can see your response
Responses are stored on a UCD server in a database kept outside the public website. Only members of the project team can view them, through a password-protected administration area. Names and email addresses are stored separately from the answers and are left out of the dataset used for analysis. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties; published outputs follow your attribution choice.
How long we keep it
We keep responses only for as long as needed to prepare the report and the follow-up activities you asked for. Retention period: to be confirmed before launch. After that, personal data is deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy, or to withdraw your consent. Email gdpr@ucd.ie and include the response reference shown after you submitted. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission.
